Abstract

382,382. Jointing pipes to tanks &c. GOLDFINCH, G. E., 12, Moorcroft Road, Wallasey, Cheshire, and BROTHERTON, W. R., 23, Cedar Grove, Waterloo, Liverpool. Sept. 21, 1931, No. 26319. [Class 99 (i).] A pipe is connected to the wall 2 of a tank &c. by means of a sleeve 3 which is internally threaded at 5 to receive the pipe and is formed at one end with a series of radial projections 6 or an interrupted flange adapted to be inserted through an aperture 1 of smaller diameter in the tank wall and to be held against the inner surface of the wall by a nut 15 screwed upon the other end of the sleeve. A washer 10, having a scarfed split 11, and a rubber ring 12, both larger than the aperture 1, are provided between the flange 6 and the wall 2, and a rubber ring 13 and a washer 14 between the nut 15 and the wall. The parts are assembled as shown by a tool comprising a rod 7 having a pivotal head 8 at one end in the form of a cross-bar.
