380,590. Steam turbines. AKTIEBOLAGET SPONTAN, 2, Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm.-(Assignees of Ljungstrom, F. ; Lidingo, Brevik, Stockholm.) Sept. 14, 1931, No. 25701. Convention date, Sept. 15, 1930. [Class 110 (iii).] The outer blades 17,18 of a radial flow turbine are formed of sheet metal strips fixed at both ends and extending in the form of a catenary curve. The blades may be of uniform or varying thickness and width and may be stamped out, their ends being then drawn together. They take up the desired shape under the action of centrifugal force. The ends of the blades may be fastened in the carrier rings 11 by forming them with lugs 21, Fig. 5, which are secured by wedges 22. Cross stiffeners 15, 16 are provided.
