Abstract

120,317. British Thomson - Houston Co., (General Electric Co.). Feb. 8, 1918. Rotors; blades.-A turbine rotor is formed of two plates 5, 6 adapted to be pressed up from sheet material and provided each with an annular offset 7 adjacent the hub, permitting differential expansion of the wheel and hub to take place without undue stress under temperature changes. Rings 9 are forced over inner flanges R and riveted in place, while spacing members 11 are provided near the periphery, the blades 13 being secured in any suitable manner.
