Abstract
379,844. Window guides. HENDERSON, L., 7, St. Bernard's Road, Olton, Warwickshire. Aug. 20, 1931, No. 23434. [Class 20 (iii).] A metal or like rigid channel-shaped guide 2, Fig. 1, for sliding windows is formed at the base with longitudinal folds which are adapted to grip a lining 4 of felt or the like which covers the inner .faces of the channel. In the form shown, the lining completely envelops the guide and its ends 6 are inserted into a loop 5 at the base of the channel. This insertion is effected before the final rolling of the guide which effects the gripping of the felt. The ends of the channel are rolled over at 3 to remove any sharp edges. A coating of rubber latex may be applied to the channel before the lining is put in position. In a modification, the lining covers only the inside of the guide, the edges of the lining being secured bv an adhesive to the outside faces of the limbs of the channel, and in a further modification the lining material may be tubular instead of in strip form.
