Abstract

379,301. Tractor-trailer couplings. HOF, H. VAN DER, 61, Sarphatipark, Amsterdam. May 20,1931, No. 14892. [Class 79 (iii).] A plate 10 carrying a king-pin 7 on the front end of a trailer 12 is adapted to ride up a runway 9 rigidly or otherwise secured on the tractor 1, passing therefrom on to a-turntable device comprising a bent transverse girder 2 pivotally mounted in brackets 3 and provided with flat bearing plates 4 and a central plate 5 formed with an opening 6 into which the king- pin passes and wherein it is retained by a catch hook 8 adapted to be held in the closed position by a spring-pressed bolt 12a withdrawable by means of a handle 13. The bearing plates 4 may be replaced by rollers.
