Abstract

379,189. Discharging liquids. ALBRIGHT & WILSON, Ltd. and BEASLEY, C. H., Oldbury, near Birming- ham. Dec. 30, 1931, No. 35990. [Class 102 (ii).] In apparatus for discharging acids or volatile or other dangerous liquids from containers, the container is placed on a base A and is covered by a counterpoised bell B, the lower edge G of which fits into a groove P in the base containing rubber packing. The bell is clamped by helices H<1>, H<11> engaging projections N<1>, N<11>, the helices being carried by tubes rotatable by handles I<1>, I<11> and mounted on side rods S<1>, S<11>, which serve as guides for the bell. Air or inert gas is supplied to the bell through a pipe 0, and the liquid is discharged through a pipe K passing through a packing Q. The base is mounted on wheels and is provided with a steering column. Alternatively the bell may be stationary and the base movable.
