Abstract

Porcelain is coated with a paint containing finely-divided silver and bismuth subnitrate, fired at a high temperature, and finally copper-plated and tinned. For example, 75 parts of finely-divided silver precipitated from an acid solution of silver nitrate and 25 parts of bismuth subnitrate are mixed with turpentine and painted or sprayed on to the porcelain, which is then fired at 800 DEG C.
