Abstract

377,780. Railway tie bars. MUELLER, J. G., Maplewood Road, Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A. June 2, 1931, No. 16092. [Class 104 (ii).] A tie bar 3 is screw-threaded at its ends and carries housings 7 for clamps 8 engaging the rail flanges. The clamps are slidably mounted in inclined slots in the housings, and are forced against the rail flanges by tightening the nuts 23 on the bar 3. The ends of the bar may be enclosed in sleeves 5, with or without insulating sleeves 6.
