Abstract
376,423. Junction boxes plug couplings. POLDEN, F. C., 56, Cannon Street, London. May 15, 1931, No. 14412. [Class 38 (i).] Several services entering a junction box are kept separate and distributed to branch outlets at each side of the box and to plug couplings at the upper surface of the box. Partitions 23, 25, 27, 29 moulded into the box separate four longitudinal channels into which enter the service leads, one service 6 only being shown. Transverse channels are formed by similar partitions 13, 15, 17, 19 the centre part of which is of half the depth of the box and covered by a loose plate 10 on which are moulded continuations of the partitions 23 .. 29. Openings 33 in the plate 10 provide communication between each longitudinal channel and one transverse channel for the same service. The four leads 6 of one service pass to outlets in the sides W, X, Y of the box and also at 54 to a socket coupling in the cover. When not in use the sockets are enclosed by watertight screw caps. The cover of the box is flush with and matches the floor, wall, &c.
