Abstract
376,159. Folding baby carriages; cradles. CURZON, G. H., 963, Chester Road, Erdington, Birmingham. Nov. 24, 1931, No. 32487. [Class 108 (i).] A folding perambulator comprises upper and lower frames connected by pivoted pillars and a folding foot pivotally mounted at the front of the body and retained in its raised position by a folding strut pivoted to a bearer member, said strut or one of the links thereof engaging a stop on the bearer member when the foot is in the inclined position to provide a direct compressional support for the foot. The body frame comprises side bars 8 which are connected to the chassis by bolts 7, transverse bars 2 being provided on which the body, which is reversible and detachable, may rest while being secured. The body is shown as a folding one, the handle being secured to the chassis and the upper bars 14 connected to the lower bars 8 by pivoted arms 15. A falling foot frame 17 is pivoted to the main frame at 18 and is stayed in horizontal position by a folding stay 19 having a stop to limit the extreme positions of the falling foot. A back-rest 27 is provided which may be positioned as in Fig. 3, when the baby carriage is used for the sitting position. The body is detachable to serve as a cradle and may be mounted on a folding stand 10 having transverse bars on which the body rests while being secured in position by bolts and wing nuts 7.
