[Class 108 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] A perambulator, baby-carriage, or the like comprises a body carried by a frame having a depending or set-down part or parts disposed below the body and adapted to be detachably secured in an aperture or opening formed on a supporting structure on the wheel frame or chassis, the body frame thus being prevented from moving relatively to the wheel frame in both the lateral and longitudinal directions. As shown, a collapsable body 1 of leather-cloth &c. is disposed within a foldable, metal body frame comprising transverse, end, U-shaped members 10, Fig. 6, connected by longitudinal bars 12 and pivoted to vertical side-bars 11 which are joined by longitudinal bars 13 and upper bars and links to form a folding structure. The side arms of each member 10 are stepped to provide lower vertical portions 10a and horizontal parts 14. The chassis frame comprises a pair of tubular side members 3, Figs. 2, 3, of closed loop shape disposed vertically and braced near the ends by pairs of upper and lower crossbars 4, 5, the bottom portions of the members 3 carrying pivoted links 6 to which are attached the wheel axles 7 which are movable vertically against the action of springs 8. A horizontal supporting structure providing a large square or rectangular aperture for receiving the body frame is formed by the upper cross-bars 4 and inner side-bars 9 connecting the bars 4, the vertical portions 10a of the body members 10 being adapted to fit closely between the bars 9, the horizontal parts 14 to seat upon the upper surfaces of the bars 9, and the members 10 to fit closely between the front and rear crossbars 4. To secure the body frame in position fasteners 15, Figs. 2, 3 attached to tension springs 16, anchored at 17 to members 18 of the chassis frame are each formed with a key-hole thaped aperture 19 adapted to be engaged over a headed stud 20 projecting preferably from the upper ends of the side arms of the members 10. When the body is removed from the chassis by means of handles 21, it may be used as a cot and supported by a folding trestle or the like, or by slings &c., or, as shown in Fig. 6, may rest on the ground, the set-down parts of the members 10 constituting legs or feet and being formed of D-section bars rounded on the underside so that the body may slide easily on the ground, or the body may be provided with wheels, castors, or gliders.
