[Class 100 (i).] In a device for intermittently feeding a strip such as a kinematograph film, the movement is obtained from a member which has a circular or cam-shaped periphery provided with sprocket teeth &,c. for engaging the strip and which is carried eccentrically on a shaft having a rolling movement about a fixed axis. In the construction described, sprocket wheels 7, Fig. 2, are eccentrically mounted on a shaft 5 of a gear wheel 2 which is driven round the inner toothed periphery of a fixed ring 1 by a rotary shaft 4 and bracket 3. Preferably the peripheries of the gear wheel 2 and sprockets 7 coincide at one point so as to provide for engagement and disengagement between the sprockets and the film when the feeding movement of the sprocket is zero. In order that the film engaging and releasing positions of the device may be uniform, the pitch circle diameter of the toothed ring 1 is an integral multiple of that of the gear wheel 2, or differences may be compensated by imparting a suitable rotation to the ring 1. Preferably the parts are balanced as by a weight 8, and cut out recess 10, or a number of the film-engaging devices may be arranged in balanced formation about the shaft 4. A guide for the strip may be provided to define the points at which the strip will be engaged and disengaged by the impeller. In the modification shown in Fig. 7, the film-engaging member 38 is smaller than the gear wheel 37 and is shaped to provide a straight film track 39. The guide in this case may be dispensed with.
