Abstract

374,684. Electrolysis. MCNELLIS, R. S., 1072, College Street, Toronto, Canada. Aug. 8, 1931, No. 22473. Drawings to Specification. [Class 41.] Lead chromate is obtained by electrolysis of a solution containing a free acid such as hydrochloric or acetic acid and a soluble salt capable of ionization whose anion contains chromium such as potassium chromate or bichromate, the anode being of lead sulphide and the cathode of an inactive substance such as lead or carbon. The cathode may be provided with a porous cover.
