[Class 126.] Imitation fuel for electric imitation fires is made from a pliant sheet of metal bent up into hollow form to represent a log or other piece of fuel, the pliancy of the material allowing the same sheet to be bent to simulate fuel pieces of various shapes and sizes. Fig. 3 shows a sheet which is first pressed or rolled, and if desired coloured, to simulate the exterior surface of a log, and is then bent to the required diameter, with the edges either more or less spaced apart, as shown, or overlapping. Lugs 4 may be provided for holding lamps within the log, and slits may be provided in the sheet for the passage of light. The interior surface may be bright to serve as a reflector. Lugs 8 may be provided to render the log stable. A number of the logs may be connected by welding or bolting to form a unit structure representing a fuel bed. Instead of, or in addition to, the lugs 4, apertures may be provided in the sheet for attaching lamps. The ends of the logs may be filled with plugs of wood, or imitating wood. The sheet may be of wire gauze, Fig. 9 showing a piece of this material bent to represent a lump of coal, parts 17a being left more or less translucent and parts 19 rendered opaque with varnish, paint, or other substance.
