[Class 64 (i).] In a washing- boiler comprising inner and outer containers a, c which communicate with one another at their bases, with a fan i withdrawing from the top of the inner container, and with the top of the outer container communicating with the atmosphere through the space between the cover e<1> and the outer container, so that, on the operation of the fan, the liquid seal at the base of the containers is alternately broken and remade thereby producing an oscillation of the washing and liquid within the inner container, the communication between the two containers comprises an annular nozzle of a cross section diminishing inwardly and formed between the bottom 5 of the outer container and an inturned and downwardly directed flange 6 on the inner container. A partition 7 between the two containers is provided with apertures u and a perforated plate 9 for supporting the articles is supported by the flange 6.
