Abstract

354,575. Washing-machines. COTTINGHAM, R. F., Enterprise Works, Digby Street, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. Aug. 29, 1930, No. 25822. [Class 138 (ii).] A dolly, which comprises inverted cup-shaped members 9 arranged radially, is oscillated and vertically reciprocated within a tub by the engagement of the operating handle 14 with the flanged upper edge of a semicircular wall 12. The handle 14 is provided with a hook 15 which engages beneath the flange. Stops 16 are provided at the ends of the wall and a portion of the flange is removed to provide an opening whereby the dolly can be raised so that when the cover 4 is opened the dolly does not foul the edges of the opening in the top 3 of the tub. Struts 6 and abutments 7 are provided to increase the turbulence produced and a removable radially ribbed false bottom 8 is provided. A shoot 19 is detachably secured to a tray 18 to facilitate removal of the clothes &c.
