Description

J. BRZYSKI AND W. FELSKI. WASHBOILER.
APPLICATION FILED AUG. 29, 1921.
Patented Aug. 15', 1922.
24: 4 A a a 4 1111' oF cE.
Jon BRz Ys rAivn wanna FELSKI, on MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin.
wasnnornnn.
To all whom it may concern r and (2) WALTER FELsKI, citizens of (1) Poland and (2) the United States of America,
residing at Milwaukee, in. the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have.
invented certain newand useful Improvements in Washboilers, of which the following is a specification. v 5
The primary object of this invention is. to provide a wash boiler providedw'ith a-removable clothes container having a removable perforated 'bottoman d means for elevating the'cloth'es container and support the same in a raised position for allowing the water to drain from the clothes within the clothes container.
A further object of my invention is to provide means detachable from the clothes container for elevating the same and interlocking means between the wash boiler and the elevating means for supporting the clothes container in a raised position.
Other objects will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, and the same consists of the novel form, combina tion and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.
In the drawing, wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views,
Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of my device showing in full and dotted lines the clothes container positioned within the receptacle and also showing the same in an elevated position,
Figure 2 is a rear elevational view of Fig. 1 partly in section and partly broken away showing the connecting means between the clothes container and the outer receptacle for supporting the container in a raised position,
Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view upon the line IIL-III of Fig. 1,
Figure 4 is an enlarged end elevational view in broken lines of the upper end portion of the inner receptacle of the clothes container partially broken away showing more clearly the means carried by the container to be engageable. with the elevating means for resting the container within the outer receptacle, and
Figure 5 is a perspective view of one of my improved elevating arms.
Briefly described, my device consists of a v Specification of Letters Patent. Pat nt i' g, 15, Application filed August 29, 1921. Serial No. 496,446; i
a g j main outer receptacle the type of. wash. Be it known that'we, (1) "Jon ,BRzYsKI.
tion. The top of the clothes container; is
rolled to form a bead and carries therein a reinforcing strip of wire. This wire is bent.
inwardly at opposite ends of the receptacle.
- and is adapted to be engaged atthese diametrically opposite'points with a detachable handl'e lever for raising the clothes o ontainer within the main outer receptacle and the,,opp0s 1te ends of these levers are adapted: to .beinterlocked with a swinging locking means carried by the outside ends of the main receptacle for rigidly maintaining the clothes container in an elevated position for purposes of drainage, etc.
Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing my device consists of an outer'receptacle 1 having the usual type of end handles 2, and positioned within this receptacle is an inner clothes container 3 sup ported on the bottom wall of the receptacle 1. Spaced from the bottom end of the clothes container 3 is an inwardly projecting annular flange 4 for supporting a removable bottom plate 5 which is perforated at 6.
The top wall of the container 3 is bent over upon itself as at? providing a bead, edge for receiving the reinforcing wire 8. The opposite ends of the container are out away forming rectangular openings 9 and a reinforcing wire 8 is bent inwardly at 10 defining a U-shaped hook engageable portion at each end of the receptacle 3 and immediately below the openings 9 of the container.
For detachable engagement with the portions 10 of the wire 8 are two substantially straight rods 11 having an open handle 12 at one of their ends adjacent the opposite ends of the rods 11 the same are curved at 13 and are angularly bent to define a hook 14 at their extreme outer ends and which handle lever 11 is adapted to hook over the.
ing thewater from the clothes therein the opposite ends of the outer receptacle 1 are provided with laterally projecting pins 15 rotatably mounted within the receptacle as at 16 and having their ends bent at right angles defining a hook 17 for engaging with the handle portions 10 of the rods 11 when the same are swung in a downward position after the inner clothes container 3 has been raised toan elevated position. F or insuringa rigid connection between the handles 10 and the hooks 16 the elevating arms are so positioned as to impinge against the rec'e'pta'cle handles 2.
While there is herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope thereof as claimed.
What is claimed as new is 1. A wash boiler of the class described including an outer receptacle, a clothes 'c'ontainer removably positioned within the outer receptacle, detachable means for elevating the inner receptacle and rotatable hook members carried by the opposite ends of the m I V 4 1,426,257
outer receptacle for detachable engagement with the elevating means for maintaining the clothes container in a raised position.
2. A wash boiler of the class described including a main outer receptacle, a clothes container removably positioned therein, the upper edge of the clothes container having rectangular cutout portions therein and at opposite ends thereof, the extreme upper end of the said clothes container carrying a reinforcing wire, elevating means disposed at opposite ends of the container and en gageable with the reinforcing wire adjacent the rectangular openings for elevating the said clothes container, and hook members carried by the opposite ends of the outer receptacle for interlocking engagement with the elevating means for supporting the clothes container in a raised position.
In testimony whereof we affix our signatures.
JOE BRZYSKI. WALTER FELSKI.
