Abstract
372,862. Rubber boots. GOODRICH, CO., B. F., 37, West 60th Street, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Burnham, L. H. ; 44, Somerset Road, Lexington, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) March 2, 1931, No. 6500. Convention date, April 15, 1930. [Class 17 (ii).] The lining 12 of a rubber boot is knitted or preformed with an open structure to its final shape of thick material, such as wool yarn and is incorporated ii. the boot in such a manner that the rubber 10 does not penetrate into the lining and so reduce its ventilating character. The foot B may be more closely knit than the leg portion 14 of the lining. The lining may be placed upon an inflatable tree and a layer of material, such as cord fabric 15 with the cords extending lengthwise of the boot, placed next to it to prevent extensive penetration of the rubber of the body of the boot which is assembled upon the last and which may be reinforced with fabric 11. The boot is vulcanized in a mould with the tree distended. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 336,226, [Class 17 (ii), Boots and shoes, Construction of].
