Abstract
In making magnetic cores by annealing powdered metal and compressing it the metal, before annealing, is mixed with from 0,5 to 1 per cent of heavy oil to prevent sintering. Examples are given in which the annealing takes place at temperatures of from 1300 to 1625 DEG F. for a period of one and a half hours. The metal may be a nickel iron alloy containing 81 per cent of nickel.
