Abstract

371,418. Plug couplings. COOK, C. R., Chesworth, Horsham, Sussex. Jan. 16, 1931, No. 6596/32. Divided on 371,404. [Class 38 (i).] A plug contact 14 formed by bending upon itself a length of wire, preferably of D-shaped cross section, an eye 12 being formed at the bend, is fitted with a slide 15 that is moved along the shank 11 of the contact without relative rotation to clamp a wire 13 that is passed through the eye. The slide 15 may be a slotted sleeve with screw engagement with a cap 16 rotation of which actuates the slide. The eye may be more elongated and the slide guided within it by a pair of lateral slots. The slide may be in the form of a disc or washer guided in or around the eye, the cap 16 being replaced by a sleeve screwing on the shank. Specification 371,404 is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification a spade or hook terminal or binding-post may have a similar wire-clamping eye and slide.
