Abstract
371,099. Wireless receiving apparatus. PRICE, A. A. and RICHARDSON, A. J., 9, Southampton Street, High Holborn, London. Feb. 26, 1931, No. 6040. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] A tubular metal screen 2 for valves in radio apparatus engages and is supported by a collar 1, of insulating material such as rubber or ebonite which does not project below the base of the valve holder thereby minimizing risk of short-circuits due to the screen touching valve connections. The collar is made with a recessed or cone-shaped edge which is firmly gripped by the screen. An earthing strip 3 is clamped between the screen and collar when the screen is fitted, and may be connected to a filament pin of the valve.
