Abstract

573,762. Aerials. MITCHELL, D. W. Nov. 27, 1942, No. 16873. [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group X] A tiltable mounting for securing an aerial to the vehicle surface 12 having an opening therein comprises an insulating base 19, 20, 21 secured to the vehicle surface, e.g. by screws 29, a tiltable hollow metal tube 14 mounted on the base for supporting the aerial, spring anchoring means 30, 32 inside the tube permitting the tube to be tilted as shown in Fig. 5, and terminal means 24 on the base for making electrical connection with the tube 14 and aerial 11. The lower end of the tube has an enlarged end 15 engaging the rounded edges of a metal plate 17. The base is made in sections 19, 20, 21 to increase the leakage resistance.
