Abstract
Cracked hydrocarbon condensate is degummed and stabilized by heating it to 700-800 DEG F. but below recracking temperatures under a pressure of about 70 atmospheres for about 30 minutes. The optimum temperature ranges are 790-830 DEG F. for condensates obtained by liquid phase cracking, 770-810 for vapour phase products, and 735-795 DEG F. for drips from plant handling cracking still gases. The condensate may be divided into fractions which are treated at different temperatures and the treatment may be carried out in the presence of hydrogen as pressure agent.
