Abstract

370,580. Liquid-dispensing pumps. DA COST A, L. L., 2601, Faragut Road, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Feb. 20, 1931, No. 5468. [Class 102 (i).] A reciprocating pump for dispensing measured quantities of liquids comprises a cylinder 2 with a suction inlet 6, provided with a disc valve 9, positioned midway along the cylinder. The discharge outlet 25 is provided with a non- return valve 27. The plunger 17 is hand operated and returned by a spring 13 and a cushion of air is maintained between the plunger and the liquid. The stroke of the plunger is limited so that it does not contact with the wet cylinder surface. An aperture 12 is covered by a washer 21 secured to the plunger to prevent loss of air from the cushion.
