370,048. Drinking vessels &c. FREEMAN, P., Volta Works, Bromley, Kent. Jan. 3, 1931, No. 288. [Class 128.] A drinking vessel is divided by a transverse diaphragm 14 into two superposed chambers 16, 17 which communicate with one another through an aperture 18 in the diaphragm which can be closed by a closure member, such as a cork stopper. Fig. 1 shows a form in which the closure member comprises a metal press cap 20 seated on an upstanding flange 22. Alternatively the aperture 18 may be screwthreaded and provided with a screw stopper. Fig. 4 shows a construction in which the wall 36 of the aperture 18 is extended downwards in a bulbous form to contain a ball valve 34. The vessel may be made in two parts 12, 13, jointed together by a screw thread 24 and a rubber washer 26 or fastened by a bayonet joint. Alternatively the vessel may be formed in one piece from mouldable material such as glass. The vessel may be made of glass, metal, earthenware, celluloid, the substance known under the Trade Mark " Bakelite," or the like, or of two of these materials in combination, and the walls are preferably translucent. The lower chamber serves as a bottle or storage receptacle.
