Abstract

369,733. Liquid-meters. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., YATES, H., and PAGE, A. E., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. March 10, 1931, No. 7348. [Class 69 (ii).] In a liquid meter comprising pistons 8 connected to a swash plate 10, the latter is provided with cam surfaces 10a which contact with a fixed member 16 when a piston, is at the top or bottom of its stroke. The swash plate is provided with a forked member 13 engaging a rod 14, and acts on a crank 22a to rotate a spring-pressed distributing valve 17 through arms 26a engaging slots in the base of the valve. The casing 4c is initially filled through passages controlled by a valve 27, the displaced air escaping through a tube 15 and valve 15a. According to the Provisional Specification, the cam surfaces 10a co-operate with cam surfaces on the member 16.
