412,399. Reciprocating-pumps. BENSON, H. A., 53, Merton Avenue, Hillingdon, Middlesex, and NUMETER CO., Ltd., 104, High Holborn, London. May 26, 1933, No. 15283. [Class 102 (i).] A gas or liquid meter comprises a pair of chambers separated by a piston or diaphragm and containing snap-action devices for actuating distributing valves, said devices comprising a spring stressed and moved over a dead centre by the piston or diaphragm. The apparatus may be used as a pump by driving the piston from a source of power. In the form shown, a piston 7 separates chambers 4, 5 and its motion operates valves 11, 12 through devices each comprising a lever 26, link 30 and spring 28. The extent of movement of the lever 26 is varied by adjustable stops 32, and that of the piston by an adjustable stop 33 and a stop 36 adapted to actuate a counter 47.
