[Class 29.] In order to avoid over-cooling of milk &c. in the cooler i by brine from the cold accumulator c of the parent Specification, a pipe connection m with a valve n is provided between the brine return pipe f and the brine supply pipe g of the cooler, whereby some of the used brine may be mixed with the very cold brine to modify its temperature. The pump k may draw brine through a pipe b<1> from the cooling-tank b, and the pipe h from the cold accumulator to the pump may be omitted. The valve n may be adjusted automatically.
