Abstract

396,637. Cold-storage rooms. FUCHS, G., 151, Schmidenerstrasse, and SP€TH, H., 2, Kiiferstrasse, both in Cannstatt, Stuttgart, Germany. Feb. 10, 1933, No. 4158. [Class 29.] A cold-storage room 1 for beer barrels is cooled by solid carbon dioxide in a container 2 with insulated walls, the gas liberated by evaporation being led through a gilled pipe 4, which aids in cooling the room 1, to a cylinder 5 so that it may cool the conduit leading from the beer barrels to the tap 10, the gaseous carbon dioxide finally passing through pipe 11 and reducing valve 12 to the barrels to act as the pressure medium for driving out the beer. The passage through pipe 4 is regulated by a thermostat 3. The cylinder 5 is provided with insulation 6 and surrounded by a cooling- water jacket. The water in this jacket may be allowed to freeze and a further cooling-water jacket provided around it.
