[Class 64(iii)] Apparatus for cooling milk, &c., intermittently comprises a cooler g through which is circulated a substantial quantity of brine &c, which is maintained at a desired low temperature in a lagged tank d by the cooling element c of a thermostat-controlled compressor-type evaporator or cooling unit a. The brine is circulated by a pump f, and the tank d is preferably fitted with a make-up inlet e.
