Convention date, May 30, 1930. [Class 7 (ii).] To prevent swirling of the charge in a sleeve-valve engine cylinder, baffles are formed on a depending cylinder head 18 adjacent the inlet port. These may take the form of helical grooves 22, 22a, or a wedge-shaped guide 25, or two ribs 30, in an annular passage 21. The charge is thus divided into two streams which meet on the opposite side of the cylinder.
