368,994. Electrically-tripped switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Chapman, C. H. ; 216, Glen Avenue, Scotia, New York, U.S.A.) March 18, 1931, No. 8355. Convention date, March 18, 1930. [Class 38 (v).]. An electric heater for a thermal tripping relay of the bimetallic type, the heater being readily removable and providing overload protection on small current valves, comprises channel - shaped metallic terminals 26, 27, carrying notched insulating supporting strips 28, the heater wire 31 being secured to bent-over clips 32, 33 on the terminals. The thermal element 15 is located within the heater coil and the heater is attached to supports 12, 13 on the switch base 11. The end of the thermal element engages a trip lever 16 which is released to open contacts 21, 22. Specification 363,247 is referred to.
