May 11, 1931, No. 13908. Convention date, May 10, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 38 (v).] Automatic circuit - breakers.- To prevent a no-volt magnet b releasing its armature a to open a circuit on voltage failure of short duration, the armature is held by a spring-controlled latch c until the latter, after a predetermined time-interval and if the voltage failure persists, is deflected by the cooling of a bimetallic strip e constituting a thermal overload release. In a modified form, Fig. 2 (not shown), the no-volt coil heats a bimetal strip acting as a latch for the armature, or the strip may be heated by a shading-ring.
