Electrically tripped and released switches. - An operating member 11, 12 for a circuit-breaker or switch 10 is actuated on continuous but not on temporary overload by the core 21 of an electromagnet 17 acting on a member 19 pivoted at 13, a bimetallic strip 18, arranged in the circuit of the electromagnet, preventing movement of the member 19 till the strip 18 is sufficiently heated to move into the dotted-line position. When the circuit through the magnet 17 and strip 18 is broken, the members 21, 19 can immediately return to their original positions and the circuit-breaker 10 be reset. The circuitbreaker 10 can be manually opened at any time by pulling a rod 14 connected to the member 11, 12 which is also pivoted at 13.
