Abstract
377,017. Electromagnetic switches and interrupters. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Sept. 26, 1931, No. 26868. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1930. Addition to 302,590, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.]. [Class 38 (v).] In the combined electromagnetic regulator and automatic cut-out described in the parent Specification in order to provide sufficient resilience in the movable contact support of the automatic cut-out the bimetallic strip carrying the movable cut-out contact is itself supported by a strip of springy material. As shown in the Figure, the movable contact of the cut-out is carried by a bimetallic strip b which is riveted at its lower end to a strip a of springy material secured to the framework. Under overload conditions the sparking at the cutout contacts in breaking the battery circuit causes the bimetallic strip b to bend towards the fixed contact 12 so maintaining the cut-out contacts closed. On cooling, the bimetallic strip bends back and opens the cut-out contacts. The strip and its carrying spring may alternatively be welded together, and may be carried directly by the cut-out armature.
