Abstract
367,026. Steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd. and GEER, H. E., Bush House, Aldwych, London. Nov. 14, 1930, No. 34369. [Classes 64 (iii), 123 (ii), and 123 (iii).] Steam superheating or other fluid heating elements constituting a unitary structure comprise a main or lower temperature portion 10 formed of steel tubing having relatively low heat resisting properties such as ordinary low carbon mild steel to which is welded a final or higher temperature portion 13 formed of steel tubing having higher heat resisting properties, containing, for example, a proportion of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, or copper. In the form shown the ends of the two portions may be forge-welded as by the process desscribed in Specification 340,073, [Group XXII.]. In another construction the two portions, which consist of pipe lengths having radius bends and return bends at opposite sides of the structure, are united. by a welded return. bend which may be formed by the processes of Specifications 6304/15, 120,042, [both in Class 99 (i), Pipes and tubes, Joints &c. for], and 355,414, [Group XXII]. The low 'temperature portion may itself comprise parts of different heat resisting quality.
