Abstract
366,507. Cycle mudguard stays, stands, forks, &c. CLARKE, M. L., (Representative of CLARKE, J.), 181, Bristol Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham. Oct. 2, 1930, No. 35949/31. Divided on 365,054. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii).] Mudguard stays, stands, lifting - handles, forks, and similar parts of cycles are made from channelsectioned sheet metal, and have an integral eyed or forked attachment end formed by bending the metal to produce parts of double thickness, such parts being pierced to form the attachment eve or fork. A stay, fork, &c. member c of channel section is first formed with a flattened endpiece comprising two parts d<1>, d<2>, which are then folded together about the line x-x, the extremity d<5> being channelled to fit inside the channelling of the member c. The flattened parts d<1>, d<2> are provided with perforations d<3>, d<4> to produce the eye. In a modification, the two flattened parts d<1>, d<2> are pierced with a continuous slot to produce a forked end when folded together.
