Abstract
598,033. Garden rollers. TUBELA ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and AHLIN, F. Aug. 29, 1945, No. 22261. [Class 6 (i)] A garden roller comprises a roller member having a counterweight mounted on a spindle C within the roller, and a handle secured to the ends of the spindle, said handle comprising a metal tube A bent into a generally U-shaped form with sockets in the ends of the arms of the U which receive and are rigidly connected to the ends of the spindle. As shown, the roller is of the solid or concrete - filled type and the sockets are formed by flattening and drilling or punching the ends of the arms. A tie-bar B is welded to the arms of the handle which may be of any metal such as steel or light alloy.
