Abstract

In the production of pure hydrogen peroxide by a fractional distillation in vacuo, especially of solutions obtained by decomposing barium peroxide with sulphuric acid, the vapours consisting of hydrogen peroxide and water vapour are freed, prior to condensation, from constituents in the form of mist and drops. This may be effected by passing the vapours through a chamber of such dimensions that the diminution of their rate of travel causes the drops to separate out, by passing the vapours through a layer p of finely grained ceramic or other material which does not decompose hydrogen peroxide, or by electrostatic treatment.
