Abstract

366,316. Safety razors. GELL, J., 123, Upper Tollington Park, Stroud Green, London. March 6, 1931, No. 6952. [Class 30.] In a safety razor wherein the clamped .blade may be removed without fully separating the main parts of the razor, the blade, Fig. 4, has a central transverse slot p to accommodate an oblique clamping screw b on the clamping plate a. The guard h is rotatably mounted on the handle d which has pinned to it at f a clamping nut e fitting in a recess in the guard, and the end of the guard is engaged by a longitudinal rib c on the clamping plate which forms a stop for the blade and prevents relative rotation of the guard. The blade has projections q extending beyond the holder at either side to facilitate insertion. To facilitate clearance of lather the guard teeth are opened out to a knife-edge at m near the cutting edge of the blade, the clearance being bevelled down towards the outer face of the guard so as not to lessen its bearing surface.
