Abstract
In the flotation concentration of ores, particularly lead, zinc, or copper ores, a water-soluble salt of secondary butyl xanthate, e.g. sodium secondary butyl xanthate, is used as a flotation agent. Examples of the treatment of copper ores in a pulp containing lime are given, pine oil being used as frothing agent.
