Abstract

365,889. Filters or strainers. SAMSON, M., 18, Hopfenmarkt, Hamburg, and LANGE, H., 3, Niekampsweg, Eidelstedt, near Hamburg, Germany. April 7, 1931, No. 10233. [Class 46.] A well filter is formed of uniformly spaced longitudinal bars connected together by welding which is situated entirely between the bars so that the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe formed are smooth. During the welding the bars may be held in position with intermediate spacing plates by concentric spirals arranged respectively within and without the cylinder formed by the bars. Fig. 5 shows an alternate arrangement in which bars a are arranged around a rotatably mounted cylinder h, being spaced by plates l in a groove on the cylinder and held in position by rings i, m. The bars are drawn over the cylinder by a pulling device k and welded in position adjacent to the ring m.
