Abstract

365,479. Mercury-vapour rectifiers. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON, Oerlikon, near Zurich, Switzerland. June 19, 1931, No. 17803. Convention date, June 27, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] An anode comprises concentric tubes 5, 6, the outer tube having a lower heat conductivity and being thermally connected with heat radiating elements such as spirals, gills or fins 8. The outer tube is made as thin as possible and the inner tube serves as the electric conductor. A current of cooling air is induced as shown by the arrows to flow through the cylinders and the holes 7 to keep cool the packings 4, 4a. The anode is mounted on a plate 3 by means of an insulator 2.
