Abstract
622,010. X - ray tubes. MACHLETT LABORATORIES, Inc. Feb. 28, 1947, No. 5864. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1941. [Class 39 (i)] A rotary anode for an X- ray tube comprises a tungsten target 20 attached to a blackened copper rotor 16. The connecting portion 19 has a heat conductivity within the range 0.00012 A to 0.005 A watts per degree of temperature difference between target and rotor, where A is the area of the blackened radiating surface in sq. cm. It is stated that the increase in radiation due to blackening the rotor is greatest within this range. Experimental data is given and illustrated graphically.
