Abstract
A tube with a cathode and rotary-disc graphite anode on which a ring-shaped target is mounted, the novelty being that the graphite anode, at least in the zone opposite the cathode, is made of a pseudo, monocrystalline pyrolytic graphtie made in a known manner using theat and press; the planes of the pyrolytic graphite, which possess the greater thermal and electrical conductivity, and which are perpendicular to the direction of growth, are arranged so they are perpendicular to the axis of the rotating anode. As compared with known rotary anodes this type is much better at conducting the heat generated away from the target.
