364,842. Grilling and toasting apparatus; firegaards. OSBORN, H. C., Dove Inn, Wing, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Jan. 8, 1931, No. 692. [Class 28 (i).] In a device for cooking and heating intended to be used in connection with open heating grates of the usual household type, a stand is formed of a pair of vertical metal uprights C, D connected and spaced apart by a bar E or the like, the uprights being each provided with a base A, B and also with recesses or slots C<2> and stops or lugs C<4> along their height at given distances apart, and detachable metal grids F are supported in the horizontal position over the fire at the desired height by the engagement of pins F<2> on the grid with opposing slots in the uprights in such a way that the side members of the grid will engage under the respective lugs or stops. The device may be adapted to be used as a fireguard by supporting the grid in a substantially vertical position by engaging its pins in opposite slots without engagement of its side members under the lugs as shown in the Figure. The bases A, B may be so attached to the uprights that the bases are angularly adjustable.
