Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 100 (ii).] In a printing-cylinder for a " rubber " printing-machine, the groove 1, Fig. 1, for housing the clamping-bars 4, 5 of the zinc printing-plate 3 is bridged by a rail 9 serving to support the inking-rollers during their passage over the groove. For lithographic printing, the rail 9 or its outer surface may be of zinc or aluminium rendered ink-repellant and water-receptive. The bars 4, 5 are actuated to tension the plate 3 by means of rails 6, 7 operated by screws 8 threaded into the bottom of the groove 1, and the lower surface of the rail 9 is provided with shaped 'cavities 20 to engage the heads of the screws 8 to lock them against rotation. The rail 9 is secured to one end 11, Fig. 2, of the cylinder by a pin 10, and' engages in a slot in the other end 14 of the cylinder to which it is secured by a plate 13. A screw 17 and distance sleeve 18 may be provided to support the rail centrally.
