Abstract
<PICT:0363080/III/1> In an apparatus for cleaning the surfaces of driers, evaporators, condensers and similar apparatus through which oil-containing steam passes, with a volatile solvent such as alcohol or benzol, the solvent is vaporized in an evaporator and the vapours are led to the apparatus to be cleaned, where they condense and the condensate is led back to the evaporator while it contains oil and thereafter to a receiver. Vaporize solvent passes from an evaporator b through a pipe c to the apparatus a to be cleaned, wherein the solvent condenses and dissolves the oily incrustation thereon. The oil-laden solvent returns through a pipe i having a window l to the evaporator b. When the apparatus a is clean, the solvent is recovered by distilling from the evaporator b through the apparatus a now acting as condenser, and condensed solvent passes through a pipe n to the receiver p.
