Abstract
361,831. Drawing-dies. TOOL METAL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., 11, Victoria Street, London. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26802. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1930. [Class 83 (iv).] Drawing-dies of a hard metal, such as that sold under the registered Trade Mark " Widia," are secured in a holder of approximately the same coefficient of expansion. Such a holder may be formed of a nickel steel containing 39-45 per cent of nickel, or part of the nickel may be replaced by corrosion-resisting constituents such as chromium, tungsten, or molybdenum. The die may be soldered into the holder. In a modification, the die may be surrounded by a piece of metal foil of the required coefficient of expansion and is then soldered into a holder of chromium steel or chromium nickel steel of high resistance to corrosion but with a coefficient of expansion different from that of the die and foil.
