[Class 83 (iv).] Each set of a series of tube reducing rolls a<1> .. a<5> is followed by a set of tension rolls b, driven at a higher speed to pull out the tube and prevent it from thickening during reducing, a slipping clutch r being provided to yield in case of excessive tension of the tube. The gear drives for each set of rolls are coupled together by chains o from the power shaft h, one or other of the chains being r e - moved to alter the gear ratio as shown by the different sized sprockets.
